In modern society most of us don’t want to be in touch with ourselves; we want to be in touch with other things like religion, sports, politics, a book – we want to forget ourselves. Anytime we have leisure, we want to invite something else to enter us, opening ourselves to the television and telling the television to come and colonize us.
Is this what you or I really want? I do not think so and I definitely hope not! Yet, I see this everywhere I turn and if you think about it you probably do to. How many times do you have to tell your kids or spouse something over and over because they were preoccupied with a “SCREEN”. How many times have you had to ask what was said because you were not paying attention?
From time to time, to remind ourselves to relax and be peaceful, we may wish to set aside some time for a retreat, a day of mindfulness, when we can walk slowly, smile, drink a drink with a friend or spouse, enjoy being together as if we are the happiest people on Earth. No distractions!
Notice your connections and your moments each day because the opportunity to do so is gone when the moment is past. Love your families with all that you are, tell them and tell them why. By doing so in word and in physical action, if today was your last day tomorrow would leave no questions.
Leave no questions behind…
Goodnight and God bless each of you and all of those to whom you are connected to or will ever be.
